Toghether with classic squidjig (EGI), an evergreen lure for fishing squids are the minnows, which typically have a slow sinking action, fitted with a lip more or less pronounced and always armed with double set of hooks.
These lures are suitable for squid fishing casting or trolling; once casted you can sink it few seconds to reach the desired depth and then begin the recovery. This is often effective by alternating the speed with sudden stop and slowdown. The difference with the traditional EGI is that are in all similar to minnow, with whom they share many interesting features for fishing squid. The most important is the fact that the lip generates a movement and a series of vibrations in the water much stronger than a classic EGI, so they are interesting when there are low light conditions, cloudy water and also they swim very well even with strong current.
